VIP Concrete Pipe Seals: Traditionally seals used in concrete pipe applications are usually a basic seal design taking the form of a simple 'O-Ring' or peak ring configuration. Over the past decade however, seals used in concrete pipe applications have become more sophisticated and VIP-Heinke has worked closely with concrete pipe manufacturers in developing seals specifically to meet their market requirements. In particular VIP-Heinke has been at the forefront in developing seals for jacking pipe applications, where the seal has to withstand arduous conditions of the pipe jacking process whilst maintaining an effective, efficient seal. Seals for concrete pipes, as with all other pipe materials, are continually evolving with the latest developments including cast-in seals providing an integral seal incorporated in the pipe joint.
