Extrusion

VIP-Heinke extrudes a wide range of EPDM-based and SBR-based extruded sections for: Specialized Seals, Tunnel Segment Gaskets and General Profiles for Industrial applications.

Extruded sections are shot moulded for joint integrity, providing rings of unlimited size for all applications. Extruded rings complement injection moulded and compression moulded rings providing a complete range of unique pipe seals and joint seals for concrete pipe makers.

VIP-Heinke is currently the only UK company offering a comprehensive range of jacking pipe seals and tunnel segment gaskets which meet BS 2494 D and the soon to be introduced EN681-1 WC requirements. They are complementary products, the former often being used in the trenchless construction of tunnels with a diameter of less than 3 metres, the latter predominantly in the waterproofing of larger tunnels.

Pipeline expertise has enabled VIP-Heinke to gain an understanding of the requirements of jacking pipe seals. VIP-Heinke was thus able to design a high-quality product which maintains its sealing characteristics while withstanding the arduous conditions of jacking. More sophisticated profiles have been introduced to meet the demand for new joint designs and increased pipe diameters.

VIP-Heinke's elastomeric compressible tunnel segment gaskets are used for waterproofing the concrete, steel and cast iron segments which line tunnels and large mains sewers. These gaskets are extruded in a variety of compounds and their complex cross-section of ribs and holes provide both strength and compressability.

VIP-Heinke's tunnel segment gaskets have proved highly successful in meeting the rigorous criteria set by specifiers for a number of projects.
